Archimed eDOCS is electronics document centric software for document capture, indexing, vaulting, serach and retrieval. Here as "electronics document"we concider any digital asset we can treat as a structured memeber of a digital data base content:

  • Scanned paper document
  • PDF electronics file document
  • Microsoft Office file - DOC, PPT, XLS, etc.
  • Image file - JPeg, TIFF, GIF, Windows Bitmap, etc.
  • Multimedia - AVI, MPEG, Flash
  • Raw data file
  • Others

Vault structure - Archimed eDOCS uses Microsoft SQL database, where structure is “free-form” – the document and media organization may be rendered in a tree-type structure similar to Windows, but is not required to. Documents and media may be located through metadata and full-text searching facilities.

Review – control of light review cycle and forwarding management. More complex review cycles are accommodated through deployment of the eProcess or EDR products.

Publish – one-step publish process and version indexing

Searching – documents and media may be located by a sophisticated context-based search criteria facility, or by full-text word searching within the content. XML permits pre-indexing which renders text searches fast and painless.

Metadata – unlimited metadata and keyword capability, including multilevel “complex code” facility to accommodate light database associations with document media.

Associations/Relations – eDOCS can relate or cross-reference document media to each other by:

  • Groups – in tree structure or “binning” of documents under one document identifier.
  • Associations – documents may be cross-referenced and relationships viewed graphically to aid in document access.
  • Shared Metadata – by utilizing metadata facility to create common entities in eDOCS for searches and queries.
